Dennis was born in Bryn Mawr PA in 1950 Dennis Zampitella is married to Catherine McCann and they are the parents of Christina, Danielle, and the late Damien. Danielle lives in Missouri near her parents and is a recent mother.

The family remembers with a heavy heart their son and brother Damien (11) who passed away at a young age. Dennis's father Louis Zampitella was a plumbing contractor in Havertown PA. His father was close to his brother Salvatore. Dennis Zampitella speaks fondly about growing up with his cousins Mike, Michele, and Sal on Prescott Road and Merrybrook Drive.
